Rise Against
Rise Against es una banda hardcore de Chicago, Illinois, Estados Unidos.
Practican un hardcore melódico, potente dentro del subgénero, con proximidad a otros estilos de base como el old school hardcore o formas potentes de rock o combinaciones de rock.

Historia
Formada en 1999, y originalmente bajo el nombre de Transistor Revolt, lanzaron un demo producido por ellos mismo llamado Transistor Revolt en 2000. Esto un año antes de firmar con Fat Wreck Chords para lanzar sus primeros dos álbums, The Unraveling, y Revolutions Per Minute en 2001 y 2003 respectivamente. Más tarde se cambiaron a Dreamworks Records y grabaron su disco Siren Song of the Counter Culture. Sin embargo Dreamworks Records fue adquirida por el Universal Music Group, y Rise Against fue finalmente movido a Geffen Records, una subsidiaria de Universal, lanzando Siren Song of the Counter Culture en 2004. En octubre de 2005 se lanzó una reedición de The Unraveling a través de Fat Wreck Chords. Su cuarto disco, The Sufferer & the Witness fue lanzado el 4 de julio de 2006. Su quinto disco, llamado Appeal To Reason fue lanzado a principios de octubre del año 2008.
La formación original de Rise Against consistía en Tim McIlrath (voz y guitarra), Joe Príncipe (bajo y voces), Brandon Barnes (batería), y Mr. Precision (guitarra y voces), y grabaron su álbum debut con el reconocido productor punk Mass Giorgini. Mr. Precision dejó la banda en 2001 y fue reemplazado por Todd Mohney. Poco después de firmar con Geffen, Mohney dejó la banda y fue reemplazado por Chris Chasse.Es cierto.
En 2006 grabaron 2 canciones, "Boys No Good" y "Built to Last", para un disco especial, las cuales más tarde no se incluyeron en el último disco The Suferer & The Witness
El vocalista Tim McIlrath ha participado con el grupo navarro Berri Txarrak en la grabación del tema Denak ez du Balio, del disco "Libre (c)" de la mencionada banda. El ultimo disco de rise against y quizas el que recuerda a sus primeros trabajos es el mas incorformistas de todos ellos.
Algunos miembros de Rise Against son straight edge y todos son vegetarianos estrictos, dos de ellos veganos.
